5. Acceptance of New Members

There have been no new memberships since last meeting.

6. Flood Recovery Subcommittee

No meeting of the sub-committee has been held since last meeting. Rod has talked extensively with the Senior Surveyor of State Government Titles Office, who has identified the historical method of establishing boundaries. Residents have no real evidence of where river bank is. Everyday grants only for private land; State Recovery money is only for public land. Problem is whose land is it – private or public?

Summary to be circulated by Rod.

Stage 1 re Gerard’s land is to be organised by Rod. Gerard is to personally pay for this and Gerard is to email an authorisation to organise.

The next Sub-committee meeting to be organised after Stage 1 is completed.

7. West Petrie Bypass Subcommittee

3,000 signatures were collected in a petition and have been sent to the State Government.

A letter has been received from Minister of Transport re conducting a study to look at corridors between Brendale and Caboolture West. The State Government is not in any position to offer funding until the study is completed by end of 2014.

ARUP was the successful tender to do the study for a fixed price contract of $304,000. They are to look at the need, when it is needed, the scope for staging and the possible route. The draft report to be ready by end of June 2014.

A draft letter to the Minister for Energy and Water Supply, with a cc to Trevor Ruthenberg, to be circulated to the executive, re water releases from the dam and therefore what should happen with Young’s Crossing, in response to the suggestion by 2 councillors that Option G would not go ahead for at least 10-15 years “if not in their lifetime”.
